# From megawatts to tokens

After placing in the **Top 5 at the NVIDIA Open Models Codefest**, we brought [**OpenCredit Evidence**](https://github.com/Algoritmica-ai/open-credit-evidence) to Berlin at NVIDIA GTC. 

During his keynote, Jensen Huang described an AI factory as a stack that converts energy and computing infrastructure into tokens and digital intelligence.

Here, *tokenomics* does not mean crypto. NVIDIA defines it as the economics of how AI tokens are valued, consumed, produced and monetised.

NVIDIA also introduced [**DSX POD**](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/data-center/products/dsx/pod/), a modular AI-factory design intended to reduce deployment at a prepared site from approximately six months to as little as 14 days.

As Huang put it:

> “An AI factory creates value when it starts producing tokens.”

In financial terms, **time to first token is becoming time to first revenue**.

My takeaway for structured finance is that AI data centres will increasingly need to be analysed through both infrastructure and token economics:

**power availability, deployment time, utilisation, tokens per watt, cost per token, customer concentration, hardware life and residual value.**

These could become the asset-level variables behind data-centre debt, equipment finance and eventually securitisation.
